Who writes here

As an adult, I had molluscum contagiosum for about two years. During that time I mostly saw the same dermatologist, and a few other doctors as well, tried creams and solutions, disinfected, kept my towels separate and bought piles of new underwear and other laundry. New spots appeared anyway.

After two years it was over for me. Was it coincidence? I don’t know. For almost a year now, no new spots have appeared.

I am not a doctor and have no medical training. Everything on this site is my personal experience or what I have read in reputable sources.

Why this site exists

Back then I read a great deal, in forums and on health websites. Little by little I understood that thousands of people have the same thing. That helped me. With this site I want to show others: we are not alone.

Why I stay anonymous

For a long time, this topic came with a lot of shame for me. Apart from the person I lived with, no one knew. Without my name, I can write more openly. The details required by law are in the legal notice (in German).

How I handle sources

  • I only pass on facts I have read in a reputable source, such as the NHS, the CDC, gesund.bund.de or studies. The source is always linked.
  • I make clear what is my own experience and what I have read.
  • I give no treatment recommendations and make no medical claims of my own.
  • If I find a mistake or a source changes, I correct the text. Each article shows when it was last updated.

How the site is funded

My story and all articles are free. The site is funded by my personal account, a PDF for 19 euros. It describes what I did differently in that last month. The report is not a method with a guarantee, but my experience.

There are no ads, no affiliate links and no partnerships with makers of molluscum products on this site. There is also no newsletter and no advertising cookies.
