My story
From the first spots to the last month.
For two years I tried almost everything that was recommended to me. This is how it unfolded, the way I experienced it.
-
The beginning
A few small bumps
A mild burning, then a few tiny red bumps. I took them for pimples and hoped they would go away on their own.
-
The diagnosis
It gets a name
At the doctor’s I heard the words “molluscum contagiosum” for the first time. And that it can take a while.
-
Year one
Creams, liquids, disinfecting
I applied, disinfected and kept my towels separate. Sometimes it got better. Then new spots appeared somewhere else.
-
Year two
More appointments, growing frustration
New appointments, new attempts, a lot of reading in forums. At some point my skin took up more of my attention than anything else.
-
The turning point
I changed my approach completely
I questioned everything I had done so far and made a new plan. Then I stuck to it consistently for one month.
-
About 30 days later
My molluscum was gone
After two years, nothing was visible anymore. I wrote down exactly what I did during that month.
How mine disappeared
Molluscum can disappear on its own. I wasn’t that lucky in the first two years. By the end of the month with my new plan, it was gone. Was it coincidence? I don’t know.
